The Type N is the narrow version of our hygienic cable gland, for equipment where mounting depth or clearance is limited. It keeps the same SS316L (1.4404) hygienic design, blue FDA seals and IP68/IP69K rating as the Type S, in a more compact body that fits small installation positions.
What the narrow version is for
On machines with tight spacing – closely packed cable entries, shallow enclosures or limited clearance – a standard gland may not fit. The Type N gives you the same sealing and cleanability in a slimmer footprint, so you do not trade hygiene for space.
How it keeps clean and sealed
Same hygienic design as the Type S: a double sealing ring (blue H-NBR plus food-grade silicone), an anti-rotation gear-tooth grip, a drainable Ra < 0.8 µm body, and rugged corrosion-, impact-, acid- and alkali-resistant SS316L.

Frequently asked questions
When should I choose Type N instead of Type S?
When installation depth or clearance is tight. The hygienic design, sealing and ratings are identical; only the body is more compact.
Are the sizes the same as the Type S?
Yes – M12×1.5 to M32×1.5 for cables Ø4.5 to 25 mm.
Is it still 3-A and IP69K?
Yes – the same hygienic SS316L design, blue FDA seals and IP68/IP69K as the standard version.
